We have a special treat during this year's NSW Seniors Festival - a Bow & Curtsy at the Fairy Hill Hall on Wed 8th March 2017.
Residents from Richmond Lodge Casino have thrown their minds back to the old days of dances in country halls. Their memories of their favourite cakes will be recreated by the Hospitality students from Kyogle High School and members of the Kyogle CWA, who will join with the Fairy Hill Hall committee to recreate the cuisine of a traditional dance at a country hall.
Students from Mummulgum and Doubtful Creek Small Schools will join residents from Richmond Lodge, St Carthages Lismore, and St Michael's Casino to enjoy some old time music and dance, with history lessons from Beverley Hendley of the Fairy Hill Hall, and John Malony of River FM's Memories program.
The event has been made possible by a grant from the NSW Department of Families and Community Services, and administered by Northern Rivers Care Connections, makers of the most luscious scones in the whole of the Northern Rivers.
